Hey there,
Today, I want to share my experience on a recent retreat organised by The Working Wives and The Celebrant Society. It was held in Bali and all I can say is that it was truly spectacular. I mean it! I met 40 other Celebrants who were just as eager and burnt out as I was, and together, we all dove off-grid into our own personal chatter deprivation tanks.

Based at the amazing Soulshine Bali, we immersed ourselves in a world of relaxation, rejuvenation, adventure, and of course, connections. From spa treatments to massages, sunrise yoga to off-site activities, we connected with ourselves as well as other like-minded celebrants. Personally, I emerged from the 3-night and 4-day experience, as a transformed person in the best possible way! Focused, more self aware and ready to step into life in the direction I want.
But you know, what made this retreat special? Here are the top 4 reasons that I will never forget and make it so unique that I could never do another TCS retreat and walk away with the exact same outcome.
My Top 4 Reasons Why This Retreat Can Never Be Replicated
4. Relaxation and rejuvenation
Heading off overseas, I was cut off from all those pesky issues and demands back home. Yes, while I was away, they built up, but after day one when I had my deep muscle massage, they were well and truly at the back of my mind.
3. The workshops

Over the 4 days, we participated in 6 workshops/sessions focused on clearing and energising our direction and purpose. We dove into the fascinating psychology of what we do and how we can operate to make meaningful changes to get to where we desire. The workshops made us think on so many levels and about so many aspects of life that it really hit at the core of who we are.
2. The activities
In our moments of downtime, we had a choice of heading off-site for activities or participating in organised ones. I did a mixture of both, but the two standout ones were the Balinese cooking class and the visit to Bumi Sehat International.
The Balinese Cooking class was pure joy. A small group of us were treated to a personal walk-through of their on-site edible garden before heading to the kitchen to prepare, cook and then eat some of the most flavour-bomb foods I’ve ever had.
food was made and eaten but the memories will remain with me forever.

Bumi Sehat spoke to my soul on every level. As a parent of a child with autism, discovering that they were focused on protecting pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and breastfeeding, but also advocating for optimal humanity, health, intelligence, and consciousness made me feel all the feels. Especially hearing about their food outreach programs, education support and free clinics for those in need included a dedicated day for those with disability.

1. Connections with fellow celebrants

To talk about challenges, success and the way we do stuff with other like-minded celebrants was hands down the number 1 reason for going on this retreat. The ability to stop and truly be present in heartfelt conversation was life-changing for me.
Were may or may not have partaken in late night pool parties
But, you know, what I loved the most about this retreat? I realised that this one opportunity could never happen again exactly how it happened, but man, I do feel like I’m going to be chasing it for the rest of my life. This retreat has been profoundly changed me, like no other. I wouldn't joke, but this has been a transformative experience that has elevated my understanding of retreats and myself. So I kid you not, go and check the retreats out and do one! No matter what your profession is, it will talk to you on so many levels. Check them out HERE.
So there you have it brides-to-be, wedding enthusiasts and those that love a good read, that was my authentic and playful conversation with you about why I would never do another TCS retreat and get the same outcome. This one opportunity was a bubble that was made special and unique by the personalities and experiences of those who attended this workshop at that exact time.
Until next time,
xoxo Laura
